ubuntu install > Installing Modules

I've downloaded and installed the Chisimba framework on my laptop (running Ubuntu), but I am having problems installing extra modules.

When I go to the module catalogue and try to install from there I get the message:

Could not unzip module: The archive could not be unzipped. Please make sure it is a valid zip archive<br /> Error : PCLZIP_ERR_MISSING_FILE (-4) : Missing archive file 'blog.zip'

This happens for any of the modules that I try to install, I don't connect using proxy, so I'm unsure where the problem lies.

I then downloaded the modules package, thinking that I could do an offline installation of the modules I wanted. However I cannot work out how to install the modules in this way. I can see the option to 'upload and install an archived module from the local filesystem', but this is for a single file, when I've downloaded the modules package, each module had lots of files.

Please would someone let me know how I can install modules in this way, or point me to the instructions of how to do this.

We are currently busy rolling out the new version of the framework and have had a few hiccups regarding packages and package servers. I will ask one of the guys that looks after our package repos to post instructions to get a working package server connection.

I also recenlty installed core 3.0.1 and trying to download and install the modules from the package server. Some are installing and the others are giving me the same errors as the described earlier on and the only modules available for manual downloads are 2.0.4 and most of them dont work. What can one do now?

New minor releases of the modules package have been made recently, but I have now requested another release for you to download. As soon as it is available, it will be in http://trac.uwc.ac.za/trac/chisimba/downloader/download/category/2 for you. Just choose the latest version!
